Greenville, S.C. | November 4, 2014 – Beth Paul, assistant general manager at Bon Secours Wellness Arena (BSWA) has been appointed to serve as interim general manager. Ms. Paul has served the Arena for over nine years, most recently supervising the day-to-day management of the Arena’s multi-million dollar renovations.
Greenville Arena District board members voted to sever their employment relationship with general manager, Roger Newton. Mr. Newton has been at the helm of the BSWA, formerly the BI-LO Center, for over nine years. In a letter distributed to GAD board members, Newton said, “I have been honored and blessed to have served in this position for almost ten years. Needless to say, this arena will always be a very special place for me and my family.”
The Bon Secours Wellness Arena opened in 1998 as the BI-LO Center. Over the years it has hosted such music legends as Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, The Eagles, Reba McIntyre and Kenny Chesney. Family favorites include the annual Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey Circus, Disney on Ice, Winter Jam and sporting events, including Greenville Road Warriors hockey.
